Anne, Charlotte and Emily Bronte

Born in Thornton between 1816 and 1820 but shortly after they moved to Haworth - with siblings Maria, Elizabeth and Patrick Branwell. There they remained but for only tragically short times.

Their mother died in 1821, Maria and Elizabeth died in 1825, Patrick and Emily died 1848 and then Anne in 1849. Charlotte was the only one to marry (in 1854) but she too died in 1855; some 6 years before their father, Patrick.

But their work has grown in stature over the years and the Parsonage at Haworth is a place of pilgrimage for 1,000’s of visitors.
